    The author, who died just before this work was published, was an eminent jeweler who contributed to Diamant et Pierres Precieuses, by Jannettaz et al, published in 1881, the principal work on gemstones in French for many years. The book offered here is a thorough study of jewelry, with extensive chapters on rings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches and more.
